Mac Clark scores pair of runner-up finishes at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>INDIANAPOLIS, IN (May 10, 2025) \u2013 Exclusive Autosport returned to the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past weekend for a USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire tripleheader. Canadian Mac Clark led the EA squad with two second-place finishes, while Joey Brienza clocked his best result of the season with a seventh in Race 2. Carson Etter enjoyed some of his best-fought battles of the season and showed markedly improved pace, fighting for positions inside the top-10.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cWe are happy to have had a solid weekend all around in the USF Pro 2000 category,\u201d said Michael Duncalfe, Co-Owner and CEO. \u201cMac did a really good job with the two podiums and battling through adversity in Race 3. Our crew did a fantastic job ensuring that Mac was able to stay on the lead lap in Race 3, allowing us to salvage crucial points in the driver and team championship standings. Carson battled and showed strong pace all weekend and I feel he will really hit his stride as we move into the last half of the season. Joey put in some of his best performances of the year, battling into the top ten. We look forward to returning to the oval at Indianapolis Raceway Park next weekend. We have a strong package at IRP and we are looking forward to a solid weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The weekend kicked off on Thursday with two unofficial tests, followed by the one and only official practice session. All three drivers showed great pace throughout the day and were ready to take on qualifying the next morning. In the cool temperatures on Friday morning, EA\u2019s drivers took to the track to qualify for Race 1 and Race 2 in the weekend\u2019s single qualifying session. In the end, although the drivers did not hit the times they were looking for, they all still had the potential for solid results in the opening race of the tripleheader.<\/p>\n

Later in the afternoon, the team\u2019s trio of USF Pro 2000 drivers took to an extremely warm track under blazing sun, a stark contrast to qualifying. Clark started seventh and immediately went on the attack, gaining three spots on the opening lap. From there, Mac showed patience and consistency, picking cars off throughout the race to finish an impressive second, his third podium of the year. Brienza fought hard all race to finish in the top-10 before settling for the 11th position. Etter was having a stellar race as well, marching his way forward before suffering a mechanical failure that caused him to retire early.<\/p>\n

Race 2 took place first thing Saturday morning, and, in typical Clark fashion, he again went into attack mode on Lap 1, marching his way forward. It was a chaotic race, and after a lot of jockeying, Mac once again powered his way forward to bring the #92 Corpay Cross-Border Solutions car home in second place, his fourth podium of the year. After starting in the 13th<\/sup> position, Brienza was again on the move forward, grabbing his best finish of the season in seventh. Etter advanced into the fight for the top-10 before dropping a wheel off track in turn three, ending up in the gravel trap. It took a lap for the track crew to extricate him from the gravel, causing him to go a lap down and finish in the 18th<\/sup> position. Once again, Carson showed the pace needed to run inside the top-10.<\/p>\n

It was an extremely chaotic start for Race 3 later that afternoon, and, unfortunately, Clark was caught up in a Turn 1 incident at the green flag. Fortunately, he was able to make it back to the pit lane for a new front wing without losing a lap, thanks to a quick stop by his EA crew. Coming from the rear of the field with a damaged steering rack was going to be a feat, but Mac aggressively picked off cars one by one and finished in an incredible fifth-place, giving him the much-needed championship points. Clark\u2019s trio of finishes has put him fourth in the championship standings, just five points behind second. Brienza raced hard all race and scored yet another top-10 finish to advance into 11th<\/sup> in the standings, while Etter went the distance and was embroiled in a great fight for 11th<\/sup>, ultimately finishing 12th<\/sup> in the final tally.<\/p>\n

The EA squad will now head to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the official Series Test this week, before returning to Indianapolis for the Carb Night Classic on May 22-23 with the USF2000 and USF Pro 2000 series.<\/p>\n
